Hamid has a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of British Columbia in Metals and Materials Engineering. His experience includes extensive research and development for Barrick (AuTec) and FLSmidth’s Mineral Testing and Research Centre in Salt Lake City, managing a wide range of metallurgical testwork programs focusing on the processing of refractory gold ores and downstream metal recoveries. Hamid has also managed the planning and execution of many pilot plants working for major gold and copper producers.
His operational experience includes working as a metallurgist in several international gold mines and in all areas of processing including crushing and grinding, pressure oxidation, flotation, carbon-in-leach, elution and electrowinning, and cyanide detox.
